We at Patricia Herbert Galleries feel you will enjoy and admire these works as much as we do.
JIM GRAHAM was a wonderful artist and did most of his work during the 1970's and 1980's. Jim Graham studied at the Kansas City Institute of Art and worked as a graphic designer. Unfortunately we lost Jim Graham to Diabetes in 2005.
His chosen media was pen and ink drawing but he also created many works with watercolors, and oils. He was a very complex individual and his complexities are shown in his works. As you study his works, at first glance you are given an initial impression but then as you look again, you will find subtleties and each time you look you will find more. Jim Graham was able to reveal volumes with just a few brush strokes.
His works are provacative, intriging and enchanting. I think you will agree Jim Graham was a extremely talented individual, an artist before his time but one that will be proven timeless.
MAXFIELD PARISH was one of the better known artist of the early decades of the twentieth century. He illustrated many childrens books and also illustrated for Scribner's Magazine, Life and Colliers. In the early 1920s Parish created paintings that were reproducted and sold as prints. His prints offered at Patricia Herbert Galleries are of this era.
KEITH BEDFORD was a World War II fighter pilot who turned his attention to art when he returned to civilian life. On a sabbatical in Denmark he was able to have a one man show of his watercolors which along with his pottery have become his media of choice.
BRET HERBERT is a young artist who was trained as an engineer. While on assignment he took up the study of art and has become one of the up and coming new artists. His engineering background, his attention to detail, impecible prespective, along with clear color and clean lines define his work
GERRI RALEY is a ceramic artish who works from her studio in Naples, Florida and Macatawa Michigan. Gerrie received a Bachelors degree from Hillsdale College and Oakland University with a Master of Arts from Wayne State University.
Each piece of earthenware is cast, or hand built, cured and fired. The bisque is completed by a final fire. Each piece is produced on site by the artist and is non-toxic and food safe
